Lyra Caltabiano is a Melbourne-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Her eclectic sound is a unique fusion of innovative pop and electronic elements with indie sensibilities, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists including David Bowie, St. Vincent, Massive Attack, Romy and countless others.

Growing up in Naarm (Melbourne), Lyra's musical journey began at the tender age of six with the piano, followed by the double bass at twelve. Her formal education at the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Polytechnic, where she earned a Bachelor of Songwriting and Music Production, laid a strong foundation for her artistic career.   

​Throughout her career, Lyra has played in numerous bands, contributing to her rich musical tapestry. After a hiatus in 2017 to focus on her mental health, she returned to music with renewed vigour for her work, developing and expanding her expressive creativity. As a transgender woman, Lyra's music also reflects her personal journey and resilience, adding a deeply authentic layer to her artistry.
